What were your takeaways from this conference/case competition?
The conference is a three-day experience that is dedicated to developing policy process research. As my first academic conference, COPPR is an inspiring and thought-provoking experience. From presentations to round table, I was able to learn climate change through a policy lens. Also I attended a panel session where Chinese scholars talking about Chinese nonprofit organization development. The panel discussions and networking events were really effective and definitely taught me skills that I needed to develop in my career.

How will your participation in this conference/case competition support your professional development?
During the conference, I engaged with some professors and fellow students from all over the country. One of the professors gave me positive feedback about my career plan and the possibility to pursue a PhD degree. I believe the connections and engagement can help me locate more job opportunities in the future.

What are some next steps or action items this conference/case competition inspired?
I met with some professionals and fellow students during the conference. The first step I return to New York is that sending follow-up emails to them and have 1-on-1 meeting with them. Also, the material presented in many sessions was thought-provoking and I will be doing my own research about some of the topics.

What are some tips or best practices that you would like to share with other Wagner students who attend a conference/case competition?
I would recommend for Wagner students to utilize resources and attend conferences. These are great opportunities for us to connect with like-minded people and you can always learn more about your field.
