What were your takeaways from this conference/case competition?
The conference was extremely informative and inspirational. I was able to build my professional network and got a lot of guidance on where I want to take my career. It was also eye-opening to attend some of the sessions. For example, one session compared Disney to hospitals. It made me think of things in a different light than I usually do.
How will your participation in this conference/case competition support your professional development?
I was able to attend a seminar hosted by current and former hospital administration fellows. It was insightful to hear their application experiences and the opportunities they were able to have through the fellowship. It provided me great guidance on what to expect when I start applying to fellowships. I also was able to begin networking with individuals with like interests as myself.
What are some next steps or action items this conference/case competition inspired?
This conference has inspired me to become more focused on my career goals and provided me guidance on how to attain them. I strive to continue networking and doing more research on which fellowship program aligns best with my wants and needs.
What are some tips or best practices that you would like to share with other Wagner students who attend a conference/case competition?
I would recommend selecting which sessions you want to attend before the conference begins. I would also recommend taking notes as the session goes on. Also, there is an active chat you can participate in and I encourage doing so because you can network with others on there. Furthermore, you can ask questions and the speaker could answer them.
