What were your takeaways from this conference/case competition?
The Global Engagement Summit organized by the United Nations Association of the USA provided invaluable insights into the pivotal role of young leaders in shaping a better world. Delving into crucial areas such as emerging technologies, gender equality, and youth leadership, the conference offered a platform to glean wisdom from prominent figures in these domains. It underscored the urgency of addressing contemporary challenges and harnessing innovative solutions. Empowered by this knowledge, I am inspired to embark on a journey of international development and advocacy, equipped with a deeper understanding of the transformative potential we possess as global citizens.

How will your participation in this conference/case competition support your professional development?
Participating in this conference enriched my professional development within the immigration and refugee sector. Exploring the discourse on expanding and safeguarding human rights globally directly influences my work, given its intrinsic link to immigration dynamics. Insights on supporting traumatized immigrants and humanitarian responses to famine offer valuable perspectives crucial for my career trajectory. These learnings not only enhance my competence in addressing complex challenges but also deepen my commitment to advocating for vulnerable populations. They serve as guiding principles, enriching my professional practice with empathy, resilience, and a broader global perspective.

What are some next steps or action items this conference/case competition inspired?
This conference ignited a renewed dedication to my work amid the challenging landscape for immigrants and refugees. Stéphane Dujarric's, Spokesperson for Secretary-General of the United Nations, impassioned address on the UN's commitment to aiding vulnerable populations worldwide, from Ukraine to Gaza, Haiti to Congo, invigorated my resolve. Inspired by this commitment, I am motivated to persist in advocating for basic human rights, despite increasing hostility. Moving forward, I plan to deepen my engagement with this critical cause, leveraging partnerships and amplifying voices to effect meaningful change in the lives of those most in need.
