What were your takeaways from this conference/case competition?
The conference was more centered on those in the private sector, which I was not led to believe would be the case prior to attending. However, I learned, after speaking to many of these representatives, their role in the realm of international development and what avenues they believe would best support development.

How will your participation in this conference/case competition support your professional development?
With my attendance to HPAIR, I have expanded my global network to areas I reasonably wouldn't have the chance to visit in the next couple years. Having worked and spoken to many individuals from different corners of the globe, I feel I've built a network that will last me my professional career and further down the line.

What are some next steps or action items this conference/case competition inspired?
I want to further expand my understanding on the private sector and how their operations affect the Pacific region, mostly Southeast and South Asia. While many of the conversations from the conference discussed East Asia, the conversations about Southeast and South Asia were somewhat lacking to my liking. I hope to attend more conferences or professional outings where I can learn more about the development of the region.

What are some tips or best practices that you would like to share with other Wagner students who attend a conference/case competition?
Be open as you can! Be willing to speak to anyone, open up yourself to meeting new people, whether if they're speakers/judges or fellow attendees. Never hurts to make a personal or professional connection.
