What were your takeaways from this conference/case competition?
The Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference was filled with interesting panels and people. I had the opportunity to attend economic, educational, and criminal justice panels.
How will your participation in this conference/case competition support your professional development?
The most interesting panel was the one I attended on reentry. The panel discussed the current nature of reentry and where the system is headed. Interestingly diverse voices discussed this topic from former prison wardens to advocates for abolition. Van Jones was the moderator. This panel was of particular interest because I am an early stage founder dedicated to tackling issues in reentry. I left this panel establishing connections to Van Jones and multiple investors interested in my project. The education, fellowship, and networking of this event was amazing.
